Working with Employers
This article deals with working with Employers, most of whom you will never meet face-to-face, and how to avoid having your project go sour. It is imperative that communication be active and often and both parties need to know exactly what the other party wants and needs.
- Escrow payments
Before you begin any work, you should ask the Employer to deposit funds into the escrow account available at BuyLance.com. If the Employer refuses, that should be a good indication they may have no intention of paying you. You should avoid beginning work with any Employer who refuses to show good faith.
Lines of Communication
Perhaps the most important way to ensure your project will go smooth is consistent and frequent communication with the Employer. Most Employers who are serious about the task at hand, will appreciate your efforts to keep in touch with them throughout the process. Many projects fall through the cracks due to poor communication beween the parties. Be sure to let your Employer know the preferred method of communication. Whether it's through email, messaging, telephone, etc., good communication can go a long way in seeing your project through to completion.
Get it in writing
You can ask the Employer to sign an agreement spelling out the details of the project, payment terms, and responsibility of the Employer should they choose to cancel the job. Written documents can protect you but keep in mind if you are overseas, it is often difficult and costly to litigate issues between parties. BuyLance.com will listen to both sides should a dispute arise, and help in making a determination as to who is at fault. BuyLance.com does not offer legal advice and each party must agree to the terms of arbitration should they choose to go that route.
